Anybody ever troll any Bobbies or suicks. Any Idea how deep they go or even if they will troll??

Trying to find a decent bait that will go 3 to 8 feet deep. I got a lake that the deepest spot is 18 but probably averages 8.

Nobody fishes it for musky, but they're in there just spread out all over the place, trolling seems to be my best bet.

Just shorten up the lines and use planer boards should be able to get any crank bait to reach those depths

You can definitely troll Bobbies and Suicks. I usually move those pretty fast when trolling them, like 4-5mph, just pumping the rod nice and easy. They get pretty erratic. Hang on tight though as the fish hit these things HARD when you troll them.

Like the other post said, adjust your line lenghts with other baits (cranks, minnow baits) and those will cover anything you can find in that lake. Also, don't rule out trolling spinner baits and bucktails, especially if there are a lot of weeds. That's also when the suicks and bobbies shine for trolling. Nice healthy weeds and lots of them.

Sledges are good to troll when the fish are high in the water column.

Not clearfork, Haven't made it there yet
Got another lake round here that they used to stock up until the 80's. Keep hearing rumors bout a few big girls left in there. Few babies caught through the ice last year. Don't know if there is anything to it but wanna check it out. I swear I saw one take a baitfish off the top one day while we were crappie fishing, but maybe the sun was getting to me

Went to ceasars creek last wed. caught a forty incher.

Sounds like a good place to troll bucktails. No fuss, no worry, just cast it out, put the rod in the holder and cover the good stuff. Terrific calling power and they won't get down to the bottom to snag up.

If the fish are active a spinnerbait is a great trolling bait. Something about that big blade or double blades that gets fish active. Erratic speeds and change of directions. Usually 2-4 ft below the surface. Good shallow water option. I have even trolled topwaters like Rumblers longlined way back behind the boat. No luck yet but looks promising. If it works I'm calling it genius. Back up to Leech 1st weekend October and I'll let ya know.
