Just curious and not trying to be a jerk, but why someone pay $40 for a Muskie Treat when you can get a Softail Phantom for $20. I am familiar with and work Phantom's really well, do Muskie Treats perform the same?

Great colors by the way. My only struggle is 2 Phantoms vs. 1 Muskie Treat for $40

I love baits that are hand crafted and these are probably the Best. Great balance, Great action and real well made. These little dynamos catch fish and are easy to throw and work.

Guest, I've been making these for almost 10 years now. I only make about 100 a year (usually in the 50 range). It's all in what people like. I make mine out of wood, Todd's are made from plastic. That's a huge difference for some people. Mine are more of a nitch/basement bait and his are now mainstream. His tend to be more consistent whereas mine tend to have some variability (which I like and catch more fish on).

Don't get me wrong, I consider Todd a friend of mine and he helped me a lot in learning to make baits years ago. I guess you could ask the question why would you buy a Ferrari when a Corvette is cheaper?

Off the topic at hand...but curious Shawn, you have your treats dated by year made. Has there been any years that reaaly stood out as better than others for the baits producing fish?

Hey Jake,
I really haven't found much of a difference in the past 5 years or so, basically ever since I started having my blanks made for me. Every year my finish and wood treatment has been getting better so the new ones should be more durable then the old ones.
