Hi,

I was wondering how the predator MH blank compares to the loomis steel-15 blank (action, power, stiffness,...).
I own a steel 15 that I love for pike fishing and I'm thinking of adding a predator MH but I'd like to hear how you guys experience the differences/ similarities...

thanks !

It's quite noticeably heavier. I've handled the steel 15, own the 20 and 25. I just ordered a mh predator and I'd say it's closer to the 20 than the 15. If it was a steel I'd say it was an 18 or so.

No problem, it should be ready any day now and I'll try it out as soon as I get it, and let you know how it goes.

I was thinking of using it for throwing double showgirls, grinders, homemade bucktails (max.3oz), 6" and 7.5" grandmas, dunwright lifelike pikes, etc..but also some heavier pike baits like the huddleston swimbaits!
I'd like to use it also for trolling the larger crankbaits...

grtz,

In my opinion i would go with the predator heavy, it is very similar to the steel 20 but has a little softer tip for loading baits. For what you are describing you want to throw, the heavy would be perfect.

Actually the H predator is stiffer than the steel 20. I'll be using my MH predator for things like topraiders, grinders, mepps maribous, etc.
