Subject: Vermilion - Take a Kid Fishing

I'm heading to Vermilion this weekend with my 2 teenagers and am looking for any tips or techniques that may give my kids a leg up on putting a nice fish in the boat. I know the lake (east section) pretty well but haven't been up there yet this year. Any comments would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance for any info.

My advice: do something different or fish secondary spots. Burn a smaller single bladed bucktail like a rabid squirrel as opposed to all the double tens flying around if you choose to fish the high traffice community spots. Easier to fish all day for the kids. Fish some shorelines particularly narrow sections of the lake with deep water close by. Fish 100 yards of each side of a point and move to the next. Lots of people just bounce around from jug to jug and don't fish shorelines. Good luck.
