Does anyone have this model? I am looking at getting on and was wondering if this was a good starter GPS model to get. Any help or ideas woudl be great.

I had one and after a couple of years it would only flash 2.0 repeatedly as the depth. I picked up a Humminbird 570 as a replacement and so far I like it. It seems more sensitive and has a dual display. You can see your bait's path. If jigging, you can see the action of the jig in relation to the fish arches.

My buddy has one which I've been using since my regular 480 crapped out (after 6 years - broken pin for the plug-in). The sonar is great, the GPS is okay. Black & white display, and it can get a bit hard to read the lake-maps if you have a chip in. But, for a starter unit, you can't really beat the price & I'd have no problems doing it. Just don't go in expecting a world-beater and you'll be happy with it.

I have one in the front of the boat and 2 years ago bought a 640 fishelite color , I have had no problems with mine for 5 years. I am also looking at upgrading electronics on my boat and when I do I will be putting on Hummingbirds however the Fishelite series from LEI have worked really good for me.
