| We were up two weeks ago. Water temps close to 80. Weather was pretty unstable - from hot and flat to rain and wind, several days in a row. The weather changes brought moderate action, but the windows were short. Lots of short hitters the week we were up. Several 50"+ hooked and lost in camp for the week, several smaller fish from 42 - 48" caught.
Mid lake structure, reefs, points etc were fairly consistent, but areas with green weeds showed some tremendous opportunities. Had a day where we saw at least two dozen fish, probably half were over 50", with a couple jumbos (55" range) sighted.
Fish boated were 30", 38", 41", 45", and a 48". Lost a couple good ones, had several others swing and miss.

From someone who actually has to think about where/how to fish....
Weeds aren't as high or prevalet as in years past.
Clarity overall is better, if you think clearer is better.
Weeds in eldorado were much better than up near the bay. |

Location: Northwest Chicago Burbs | It was TOUGH going! Flat calm, hot days made from about 11AM to 5PM kind of brutal. We only boated two little ones, but did manage to lose a monster and a 49" (or so) at the boat. Good times as always at AML, but the fishing could have been a bit less difficult. |
