Assuming water temps drop some, I'm thinking about heading up to either the Madison, WI area or over around Pewaukee for Labor Day weekend. If I head up, I'll probably try to drive our RV up with the boat. We're pretty good at launching the boat with the rv, but it does require some room. Do any of the lakes in those 2 areas have suitable launches, and are there any that we definitely won't be able to launch at? Also, if anybody wants to give any tips, I'll gladly take them. Thanks.

Any of the main launchs in Madison (Monona/Waubesa) you should be able to launch. Wingra you won't be able to.

Lake Farm Park has camping/RV spots, and the landing on Waubesa is right next door, might be a good option.

The County landing on the far west end of Pewaukee Lake should work for you.

Pewaukee has the edge for now. I've got the ramp covered as well. Anybody have any suggestions for campgrounds nearby? I've done some investigating and haven't found any campgrounds with electrical power. I can fish all day and night without rv power, but the boat batteries will need a good charging after a couple of days. I don't really want to run the generator to charge the batteries. Any suggestions? I'll also gladly take any fishing tips. Thanks, Kyle

I think there is Nagawaukee campground which is close to the West end launch. I'm sure there are a few from the board that have stayed here. Not sure if they have electric there or not though.

I've stayed at Nagawaukee, it's your average campground, and is the closest we found to Pewaukee. I don't think it has electricity though?

You might want to give John a call at Smokey's Muskie Shop. He might just let you stay in his lot and plug in overnight for a few bucks. 262-691-9659.

You'd be right on the water.
