Painted a couple of baits today and noticed some splattering overspray from the darker colors. Was using the 2x Rustoleum. Do the smaller cans of auto touch up paint splatter less?

In my experience, No. Spray cans work fine and can actually do a pretty nice paint job. However, overspray is 20X worse than an airbrush. Therefore, it is important to make sure anything you don't want painted is masked.

I used to paint all of my Grunts with Rustoleum and it worked great. You just need to get the feel for how the can's spray. I had to use very fast motions to get a very nice look and I was also very anal about making sure my tips were clean after each use. Just turn the can upside down and hit the button for 3 seconds to get the paint out. You can do this a few times and then the tip is trashed on those. Main things is, use a can as much as you can the first time and you will get the best results. Air brush is the best.
