| Hey guys, just interested to see how other guys would compare last year to this year so far? I thought this year would be better than last because we have had warmer weather and make the fish more active. This season for me hasn't been as good as last. Looking forward to september when we can get some wind and water temps fall. |

| Terrible. I have been really struggling. Just picking the wrong days to go I think. Some days they just won't play - no matter what you do I guess.

| What Landry said - terrible.
Then again, I'd rather be lucky than good.
Well last year was all luck. This year I am finding out I'm really no good. Maybe lucky again next year.
Although, looking at my log, 75% of all my fish have been caught August-November. They just seem so much easier to catch in the fall.

Location: Contrarian Island | hours on the water down..so fish in net down... still putting a fish in the net every 6.5 hrs on the water isn't all bad...not as good as last 2 seasons but the fish haven't been cooperating like they should be...the next month should be good if it ever cools down... ; )

| At the begging of the season I was ripping it up. A fish in the boat every 2.5 hours! That changed and now I'm down to a fish every 6-7 hours (I don't have my spreadsheet accesible at work right now). I'm still wayyyyy better than my average from last year of a fish every 12 hours. Hope to bring that time down again after my trip to Canada at the end of the month. |

| My best year yet!!! I have been catching them on almost every type of lure and have boated more fish on topwater than anything else including a 51.5"! Of course, on the other hand I would have to say terrible during tournament hours |

| Pretty poor for me.
But last year was a very exceptional year....
With our warm waters, I'm not going to get out much until September. Hopefully it will turn around at that time. |

Location: WI | June was fantastic. Seemed like the fish were pretty active right of the bat after that warm spring. Didn't get out much in July and when I did I was either getting chased off the lake by the weather or something was breaking. I've got time now, but the water's just too warm. Looking forward to some time off at the end of October and the middle of November after the PMTT crowd has cleared out and the yachts are getting put away. |

Just have to stay after it and keep trying. It builds character, eh? |

Location: Hayward, WI | I haven't been out fishing as much as I would like to. No fishing for about 2 weeks in mid June during my honeymoon (usually a time period I can put a few fish in the boat). Also a lot fewer long days on the water. I still have nearly as many fish now as I did all year last year. Still not exceptional, but not bad. It's been just an ok year for numbers and the size has been decent but no real big fish yet. I don't have it plotted out, but hours per fish isn't all that bad. I have been just under 4 hours per fish in the net the last two weeks.

Location: central illinois | Caught 27 so far this year with a few big fish but maybe one monster. A really good start because last year I caught 28, so this year I should beat my record for numbers. However last year was phenomenal for me for average fish size and I also caught 3 fish that were monsters(in my opinion)! If anyone knew the hours I put in to catch these I would be super embarassed! Can't wait till October!!!

Location: Muskegon Michigan | My wife and I are having a pretty darn good year. Promoting the Company is always fun. The last two years we built a new shop and rebuilt an old house so I have to compare to 2006 when we caught 226 fish. This year we are on a pace to catch about 140/150 Muskies over 30 inches but we both got personal bests of 53.5 for me and 55 for Michelle. St Clair has been pretty good to us as have a couple of smaller Michigan and Indiana Lakes. Im looking forward to casting again this fall when things cool down. Right now we got 86 fish with 4 over 50" and Michelle is in first place in Muskies incs womens masters. Pretty happy about that. The only place we can fish right now is St. Clair or the big lakes up north. All trolling. I would like to get back to casting but I wont fish this hot water. Mike |

| My season's going pretty darn well. I've been doing pretty good in tourneys-got a 1st place and 2nd place. Fished 2 new bodies of water and caught fish on both-both during tournaments also. I caught my biggest fish out of Kinkaid as well as my new pb up on LOTW-49 7/8. My dad caught his new pb up on LOTW also 47.5, and we had our best year for numbers up on LOTW. The downsides have been when I have been off, I have been waaaayyyy off. Spent 3 days on LOTW without catching any fish-no pike, smallmouth, nothing. That's not to say that I shouldn't have put fish in the boat each of those days, including some really nice fish-I just didn't. I have also had a couple of weekends with absolutely nothing over on Kinkaid. Worst part though has been no muskie fishing down here since May-dunking minnows and chicken livers isn't that exciting. |

| great june and july but the dreaded month of august is here. always slows down for me this time of year with multiple fish days being the exception rather than the average like earlier in the year. so june-july rate as a 9 w/ a 50" and lots of fish. |

| as bad as bad can be........have fished alot. multiple days of no sign of a fish...have thought way outside of the box and has not paid off. same for others i fish with? whats up? all i can think of is these fish are buried in the weeds and not moving (conserving energy). maybe in a real funk w/ the high temps. no cowbell bite either, OMG!! |

| shouldve been perch jerkin for most of the season, or like JOmusky is doing,
lots of salmon! numbers are down, no big fish yet, lost or missed a couple,
hoping things turn around come september. If not, the deer will be getting a little more attention this fall.
Its too hot to sweat right now, let alone drink beers in the baking sun.
id take some ice on the boat seats right about now. |

Location: WI | Slow compared to last year. I have yet to even see a big fish much less catch one. I think my numbers are up, but I've put in more hours. Reels keep breaking, rain keeps raining, and I keep feeling burned out.
Way less action overall this season, I've barely had any follows, they just eat. That can be good I guess, but it's nice to at least see a few now and then. My avg is 37" at 10 hours per fish.

| Terrible. Very few fish this year. May be because of water temps and this weather, i don't know... but last year it was polar opposite and i blamed it on the weather then too. |

| Hopefully, far from over, with some of the best yet to come. Other than that, somewhat good, but came the closest I've ever been to having a monster in the net, only to have it get caught on the net. So that has cast a pretty dark cloud, but the silver lining was the best numbers week I've ever had on LOTW. Now if the water will get below 90* here at home, there will be some hope for the fall.

| I just got into musky fishing this year. I went out and spent money on my own tackle and rod because I was hooked after the first follow I had. I still have not caught my first musky, but I have had plenty of follows this year. I have spent about 6 days on the water fishing just for musky with no luck. I know it will eventually change, but I am getting anxious to put the first one in the boat. |

Location: Grand Forks ND | Really having a lot of trouble here in MN this year. June was a good month, but since we have been doing terrible. It has to be the higher water temps this year, and we just don't have the experience fishing in these conditions and I think we're fishing way to shallow. Would probably be a good trolling year, but we just keep casting away. Getting into the 50's at night this week, however, so that should start cooling stuff off. Still hopefull for a good fall bite, but right now it's just real tough even getting motivated....makes me want to fish for some easy stuff like catfish and walleye. |

| Another vote for terrible. Worst year in the past 15 years for my personal productivity here in MN. Like many of you, I'm looking forward to the Fall and better fishing. There's likely to be a lot of us out there trying to salvage our year!

| Even though I do some considerable travel to fish elsewhere, my bread and butter place to fish right at home is Pewaukee Lake where I'd be on the water at least twice a week. Last year for me (and every other guy on that lake) most every trip was a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, the fish were a bit on the skinny side, but boy oh boy were they ever hungry. You sort of began to expect that multiple fish days were to be a ho-hum occurence. Then there was this year. The few fish I caught before the lake began to boil were fat SOB's but very few and far between. Then the lake became unfishable with water temps suitable for boiling eggs. So, for me, the fish I am catching away are the only ones I am getting this year (till the cool-down) and therefore my rating for this season is stinko-crappo!!!! Marty Forman |
