Anybody buy or use one of these rods yet? How does it compare to the 8ft HF 2-6, I have that rod. I just was wondering if the extra 6 inches (insert smart comment here) would cast cowgirls better. I like the 8 footer but I wish it wasnt so stiff. The 8 footer does pretty good with mag dawgs does the 8ft. 6? Because of the rating on the rod how does it compare to the Slingblade? Currently I only have Premiers(I absolutely love them) but I am strongly considering trading up to a Slingblade. I've done searches on these items and some people like the Big Dawg better for cowgirls and mag dawgs. I prefer a little whip in the rod and have bought too many tree trunk rods that do not keep fish pinned so I dont want to do that anymore. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Slightly lighter in the tip than the 80HF. sounds like for what you're doing you should just trade that 80HF for the slingblade. A lot of guys (myself included) like the Big Dawg more cause they're better for super models, jerkbaits and curly sues and pounders, stuff that's too heavy for the sling blade. however the Dawg doesn't cast double 10's or single bladed bucktail and spinners nearly as well, and a lot less flex for keeping fish pinned.

I have both the slingblade 8' 6" and the big dawg 8' 6" and had the premier 8' 2-6 oz. First off all are great rods. I liked to throw mag dawgs and 8-10 size blades with the premier. It had a nice stiff tip but if you got a little weight or resistance it would break over and have some action. I sent the premier 8' into st croix and upgraded to a split grip slingblade 8' 6". The extra 6 inches felt akward along with the split grip for one day and then I got use to it and now I love I will never go back to full cork. With the split grip you just have to condition your ribs for when you are ripping those mag dawgs you'll get use to it and love the rod. Then I bought the big dawg 8' 6" and it is great for those big plastic baits and double 13's. I've thrown pounders with mine no problem. I like a stiff rod for my double 13's because when I do my figure 8 I like to have enough rod tip left to whip it around if need be. I Hope this helps
Thanks
Daniel

No one has used the Premier 8ft. 6 HF 2-6oz. rod yet? I probably don't want to hear that it is as good as the LT Slingblade since I just ordered it!
