Purchased all the necessities to start making fluorocarbon leaders.

Now for you who make your own FC leaders, have a few questions.

1) How do you tie the ends (crimping or knots)?
2) Do you use a crane swivel or bearing swivel?
3) If you tie the ends what type of knot?
4) If you crimp do you use a dab of glue (what type of glue) when crimping the FC line into the sleeve?
5) How do you test the leader after you've made it to ensure it holds and for confidence of the leader?

Thanks in advance for all the help...K2.

Do a search on this site. There must be at least 6 detailed threads on this very subject alone.

4. Use a dab of super glue at the knot when pulled tight
5. Full confidence, many fish caught and never failed

Knot or crimps really depends on the thickness of the fluorocarbon. If you are using the lighter stuff, 130 or lower, definitely a knot, over that crimps.

I bought this and it helps keep the loops straight. Still not easy but it works.
