| Just got back from Lake of the Woods. And did alot better. You guys have heard me vent about my frustrating trips, this time I had a good one. My brother in-law and I went 6 for 10. I got 5 of the 6. Hey it was his first time Musky Fishing, so you got to pay your dues. I got a 37, 40, 40, 47, and a nice 49 incher and he got a fat 38 incher. We also got 31, 39 and 41 inch northerns. The fish where all on rocks except one. I tried the weeds but after a day and half of nothing, I had to switch my plans. The major areas was smaller islands and reefs. The top producing lures were Marv's spinnerbaits black with gold blades, super-raider and the scret weapon(which they don't make anymore)the giant smoo, on that subject if anyone wants to get rid of there smoo's, it has to be the "giant one." I hope this helps anyone. Water tempiture 69 to 71 degrees. Good fishing, Al[:praise:] | |

| We just got back as well, fishing with Doug Johnson was a great experience it's just amazing how much he knows about LOTW and it's muskies. On Friday Doug had a MONSTER of a fish on, this beast just stuck it's HUGE head out of the water shook a couple of times and it was gone it's mouth was wide open and it's gill plates that were about the size of coffee can lids flared out the 10 inch lure was not even visible, WHAT A BEAST!!!
Later that same day I lost a beast Minimum 50 inches the fish just came out of the deep and ate the 10 inch lure & Leader all of a sudden slack line either the fish bit off my Bucher Wire leader or the leader just failed so there I stood with a limp line and a 50 plus? swimming away with the lure in it's mouth, a few seconds later my son said the lure floated up he looked at it and underneath the lure sat the beast just staring at it as if saying go ahead move I dare you. Oh well Next Time

| Alan, glad to see you did better this time. You landed your fish too. I told you that putting superglue on your hooks would work![;)] See you on the water soon. | |
