| Does anybody know the record for most muskies caught in a 24 hour period by one person? and just for fun, what is your personal 24hr muskie count record?

Location: Kodiak, AK | Yeah, like Jason said, there's alot of St. Clair trollers (not casters) that can rack up the fish. 45 fish days are rare, but not unheard of. If there's a record, it's from a troller, probably on LSC. |

Location: Honor, MI | For you young bloods I remember a poster in my uncles bait and tackle shop in Lac Du
Flambeau, WI back in the late 50's when the Burmeck brothers first introduced their new "Secret Bait" (same one you see advertised today) claiming well over 200 skies in a week, mostly caught on the Chip. The stringer shots were amazing! As a side note my uncle had an Indian guide named Louis St. Germain who guided out of his shop, that brought in a 40+ pounder #*^@ near every week. It was said that Louis guided 4 presidents. Ah, for the good old days! |

I've been fishing LSC since the mid 1980's for a good part of that I was a full time guide. I still guide there part time. My best day ever was during a tourny out of Anchour Bay and was in the East end of the lake. Started fishing at 4:00 a.m and stopped at 11:00 p.m. we ended up 46 for 57 with a 53 3/4" topping things out. I've only had on other 40 fish in my 25+ yrs here and it was a 40 for 48 day also during a tourny about a month after the one mentioned above. LSC can get CRAZY at times especially if you know what you are doing. I know of one guy that swears on his life they had a 60 something for 70 something day the year before the VHS die off. Now days all we do is cast (wouldnt go back either) and if we have a double digit day I'm ready to do back flips.
Good Fishin'

Until you've fished LSC with some one who knows whats going on it's really hard to beielve some of the numbers that come out of it but yes you are right it was an amazing day. If I see a fish an hour now days while casting I figure we've had a decent day. If we catch a fish an hour it was an incredible day.

Location: Grand Rapids, MI | Just this past spring around the opener, there was one boat that had a 63 fish day, another with 50-something, and yet another with 40-something. Of course, there were like 6 guys on the boat, so up to 12 rods in Canadian waters, and 18 in U.S. waters. |

(see indiiana jones and the last crusade),,for reference
when we went we literally ripped the entire front clip from bumper to top of grill off the front of dockisin's chev traiblazer hanging by just one side like a door hinge trying to launch off a sheer cliff after going down a one track trail,,,you need a carry in boat you arent getting anything over 14ft in,,not worth the effort for what might be 38 inch fish now.
j redig,,, cant be the same pond this one was 100 miles out,, if you got a 48 out of this one you should have had it repoed

| As I said in another post, I caught 3 fish in 4 casts in about ten or fifteen minutes one evening on a moon-rise last July. I think if I could have straightened out the wire in my bucktail faster (or had been smarter and just switched it out for another one) I think it might have been even better. It was just one of those "windows" that opened up and all God's blessings poured out of it. All 3 fish hit the second the blades started to turn...and then as fast as it had begun...it was over, and nothing else remotely like it before or since. Marty Forman |

We had a morning like that at sunrise on Saturday. Boated 3 fish, lost two and saw two more all in about 15 minutes and then then nothing until moon set around noon and did three in 5 casts then nothing again until we surrendered.

| Just got back from a week trip to St. Clair we had a 24 fish day and a 22 fish day.
Some of the fish from the 22 fish day will be on Greg Thomas's new video that will be out this winter including my 53.5" on a Muskietrain MX6. He came out and filmed with us for 4 days.
Had a 28 fish day there 3 years ago with 5 over 50" its hard to believe unless you have fished the lake with someone who knows it. Not every day is great there we had a 4 fish and a 2 fish day as well during a cold front.
Good luck,
Jeff Hanson

| One time my buddy and I caught 11 fish from 5am to around noon, not even close to a record but our best day on the water, lost a couple of others and saw several more. We always wonder how would have done if we could have stayed on the water the rest of the day. Had to get off for a buddy's wedding, grrrrrr.............
Had one other good day, I boated 5 fish in under an hr, a 49.9999999 (just shy of 50) a 45, 42, 40, 37
I won't set any personal bests this season, tough tough tough... unless your on Vermillion, right? Just had to throw that one in there! |

Location: Eastern Ontario | About 15 years ago my friend and I had a 30 fish day casting a small lake. Thats counting everything 20 inches to 52 inches. We spent most of the day hiding from the lightning in a picnic shelter every time it would let up we would pump out the boat and go out and get 5 or 6 untill chased of the water again. We knew the lake well but there were active fish everywhere we fished. Since then a good day is 2 or 3 fish.

Location: Maple Grove, MN | I've caught five in a day three times now. My best in 20 minutes was four low 40 inch fish. My largest three in 20 minutes were 48, 48, and 49. My best in 10 minutes was three around 40 inches.
And then I've gone an entire season without a Muskie. Nothing better to keep one humble than Muskie fishing. Just when you think you have them nailed down, you get humbled real good. |

Location: Stevens Point, WI | I've had an 8 fish day before, but i did just have my best 4 minutes of fishing ever. I caught a 38, 42, and 40 and lost a really nice one in 6 casts. 3 casts in a row with muskies made me squeal like a little girl. Of course this was from shore, in a random spot, on my lunch break, at 1pm, the day after a big storm. Fished for several hours in the boat last night without seeing a fish- now i think they're just messing with me. Anyway, you guys at LSC make me sick! |

The kids and I had a 22 and a 18 in 2 days on Kinkaid but never broke it down to how many in 24 hours. |

Location: Southern Ontario, Detroit River and Lake StClair | There was mention of guides on LSC a couple posts back. There are plenty besides the large charter boats mentioned. Quite a few guys run smaller operations that run typical Muskie boats that take just two guys for people that don't want to dish out the large dollars for big boat. Some guides even specialize in casting LSC and the Detroit River. Myself being one of those. There's guides that run out of both the Canadian and US sides as well.

Good luck getting on that pond. I went and looked at it this summer and it was completely miserable trying to get back there. The road has never been in more rough shape than it is now. Huge holes in the middle of the road full of water that are 3'-4' deep. I just took my 4 wheel drive truck back there and you are not getting much of a boat back there...maybe a canoe. 50 fish days was average for that lake when I used to fish it, but they might as well be little pike because they were all 2-4 lbs dinks. |
