Subject: Driving from Bemidji to Kenora ???

Hi:

I'm heading to LOTW on Saturday morning and coming from Bemidji where I am staying on Friday night instead of directly from the Twin Cities.

Question is which way is the fastest?

1) 71 to 72 to Baudette and then into Canada and 11 to 71 up to Kenora?
2) 71 all the way to International Falls and up to Kenora?

I also assume the border crossing at Baudette is less crowded than IF/Fort Frances?

Any help or experiences are greatly appreciated.

Thanks - Midge

Through Baudette is closer and faster.

Thanks Doug.

How's the fishing in the Angle? I've heard really mixed stories about the action and size so far this year.

Doug is always right - but it is only about 4 miles shorter to go through Baudette rather than I Falls. The line at the border is almost always shorter - unless you get stuck behind someone who has troubles getting through.

Hi,

In the clearer water up here it seems night fishing is producing a touch better then fishing during the day... Go down to the darker water south of Wiley Point and the day bite is strong.

Just came back from Eagle last night...do yourself a favor and go through Baudette. Fort Frances was a joke getting through this weekend.
