1st let me introduce myself. My name is Kevin and I live in SE WI. I enjoy fishing for anything that swims and practice catch and release in almost all cases. I have gotten to the point that 90% of my time on the water is spent Muskie fishing. I currently fish from a 1984 Tuffy Walleye Rampage getting pushed by a 1997 Merc 40 two stroker. Love the boat for it's great ride and water accessability. But due to spending time chasing the bigger fish storage has become an issue.

This brings me to the the subject of this thread. I have researched boats and all of you here and my current experience with Tuffy boats have helped me in deciding to replace my current rig with a new or newer Tuffy. As of right now it is a toss up between the 1760 and 1890. I know that even going to the 1760 from the 15 I have now is going to be a dramatic difference. With it's 30+ inches of extra length and abundant beam will make it feel as if I just got into a yacht. I do have some questions concerning both boats that you all with experience may be able to help me with.

1. I like the G series of both sizes of boats and am looking to get a single console if possible. How much of a price difference am I looking at purchasing the g series over the standard hulls?

2. Between the 1760 and the 1890 does the foot per $ ratio make the extra space provided by the 1890 a value if purchasing new?

3. I plan to fish small lakes to the occasional trip out onto GB and even Michigan for Trout and salmon. Would a kicker motor be required for trolling on the 1760 with its lower HP or can I expect it to troll that low?

I am sure I will have more questions as I read replies from current and past owners. I look forward to the replies and want to thank you all for getting me this far in me decisions. This forum is a great resource and look forward to learning more from all of you.

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin		1) About $1200
2) Depends on what you need. The 1890 is a big boat, 19' plus, and much wider than the 1760. Both handle rough water very well, it's a difference in room for the most part.
3) Depends on the trolling speed you want to accomplish. If you are pulling spinners for walleyes, you might want a kicker to slow it down under 1.5 mph.
