Fished the south shore of Lake St. Clair with friends and Prostaffer Captain Craig Miller of Heat wave Charters.

Started the week fishing with good friends Cooper and Tristan Smith aboard thier 27 foot Sea Ray . Went 1 for 4 but it was my personal best at 53.5 inches . The fish came on a Talonz Slasher (Superman) Off the Boards 30 back 3 ounces of weight. Fish had a 20 inch girth. My fish went back real well due to real nice live well cooper has on his boat. At 60 inches these are the nicest live wells I have ever seen and they can be lifted right out and ut on a cart to weigh a fish if you need acurate weight. Some great innovations coming from the boys on St. Clair.

Second day Fished with Talonz Prostaffer Captain Craig Miller of Heat Wave charters. It was an awesome day going 13 for 19 with my wife getting her personal best with a real nice 55 inch by 20 Musky. We also got a bunch of fish in the mid 40's and one 51 (skinny fish) for me. All the big ones came on Custom colored Spanky baits with double 10 blades. My first double ten fish. I am finally impressed with a double 10 bucktail. The coolest thing about this day was getting that 55 to go back. The good Captain swam with her until she went down on her own power. This is what its all about. This guy will go to almost any means to make sure these fish make it on the release.

Last day we fished in our boat with a good friend and went 3 for 6 with all fish coming on Talonz Slashers including a really fat 49 incher. No pic of that last fish as the waves were huge and the weather terrible. W e measured her and unhooked her in the water and fought our way home. here are some pics.

Mike,
Sounds like you had a great trip. Congrats. I will be there in a few weeks can't wait. Looks like you have seen the effectiveness of trolling Spankys
Like you said said Craig is a top notch Captian and is always on big fish.
First time I've seen him in the water without his water wings though.

I really like the Spanky double 10,s. Real nice burn and flash at 4 mph. I doubt I could cast them as my elbows are shot but hey they sure work trolled for us. I would like to see my wife on Dans pro staff She just put him at the top of the women,s board for big fish and Women,s masters. Our slashers have been doing real well too. My 53.5 was almost all of Michelles fish. Both were great fish. One thing is for sure there are a lot big Muskies in Lake St. Clair. They are a little skinny right now but as fall comes on they will be getting fat. I cant wait.
