I caught this female in the Green River in Kentucky on July 4th, 2010.

She really put up a good fight and totally destroyed my lure.

Hopefully I will figure out how to post a picture.

That is not the issue. It is not that the fish is moved from cool(er) to warmer water. It is the overall lack of oxygen in water that is 80 degrees and above. Fish blow a lot of energy(oxygen) when caught and they have a very hard time replenishing themselves in warm water that contains little oxygen. Especially big fish. It's like running a mile at full speed then putting a bag over your head.

Nice catch. It is a nice fish and I do hope is survived.
