I burned up the motherboard in my trolling motor and am looking to get a replacement motherboard the i can replace myself. It is a minn kota power drive 50 lb thrust. if anyone out there has a old one or knows where to get this part i would appreciate it.

Hiya,

if you are in the twin cities area, you could try capra's sports of of HWY 65 in Blaine/fridley area. They are an authorized dealer and I have had work done there and purchased parts there as well.

Oh...and when you are done there, take a very short drive north on 65 and go drool at all the muskie baits at Thorne Bro's new store...

If you manage to find one for under $100 let me know because I have a power drive 40 on my boat, and the mother board is acting up. I called Minn Kota and complained because this motor is only about 6 months out of warranty and probably only has about 50 hours on it. They told me that this is a common problem with that model and it was over $100 for the part I believe. Mine still works luckily, but you have to wiggle the wiring around when it stops. If you can't find one, you might be able to tug on the wiring lightly where it comes out of the base of the unit to the plug for your foot pedal. Hopefully this helps some.
