| What are the best running lures for trolling 5mph and above?

| Try the 8" Ukkos....got 2 rips on one this weekend, and didn't blow out even at 7mph. Was using them on the short lines, so they weren't diving all that deep, but figure they'll go 15-18ft on a long line. Nice paint jobs too, different from the norm, and don't get all torn up from hook scratches like a lot of baits will.

| My two fav's are from Rapala! The Magnum Rapala with the metal lip has worked amazing for me and the super shad rap works great as well. They always run true and have great hook up persentages.

| Believers will give you the best action of any lure over 5 MPH. That is untill the tail falls off. [:((]
Try to troll a jointed 10 incher at some 6 to 7 MPH or untill you see your rod tip go like this. " thump, thump, thump, pause, thump thump, pause " During the pause the lure actualy swings to the side and rises like a dying fish then it digs back in and runs true for a bit then dies again, thats the perfect presentation that will catch you plenty of muskies and some super big ones too. [:sun:]
I also like speed trolling spinnerbaits ( again the best presentation in 8' of water or less weeds or not ), wiley's, Jakes, depthraiders, perchbaits and my own secret bait [:p] |

| Surprisingly no one has mentioned my longtime favs.............................Spoonplugs and Hellbenders. If there are any better lures for in that 20 foot zone, I have not seen them. 8.5 to 10 mph is not uncommon with these bad boys. Go fast and hang on tight. |
