| Tried out my planer boards for the first time this weekend...COULDNT GET THE GODDAMNED THINGS TO STAY CLIPPED ON!!! Tried baits as big as Depth Raiders, and as small as 6" Ukkos, the clips wouldn't stay CLIPPED!!! Spent the first 45mins clipping them on, then chasing them down after they came off....I'm using the largest size that OffShore sells, with the clips that come in the box. Any suggestions?

| Slamr;
There have been several mentions lately of a "new ,
stronger " version.It may be the OR-18 . I'm not 100%.
Call Ed Shirleys .They'll know. You might also try to
use 1 wrap around top or bot jaw and then use a piece
of surgical tube as additional clamp. Small discs of
cloth adhesive tape on both faces would also add to
the gripping strength.
Also ,nice job on all the work on the Ashton Fund .

| First of all, what are you doing trolling!!!!![:0]
Trying to add some techniques to your arsenal, way to go buddy. I'll look for the ones that I use and give you a shout. |

| How fast were you going? Mine work good w/ Jakes + such but I don't use wide wobble baits. The clips Dennis mentioned work well + remember when you are done using them to put a small piece of thin cardboard in between the rubber pieces at the bottom of the clip; helps keep them from sticking together as they age![:0] |

| Ralphie!
Good to see you on the board again....we're all worried about you! Trolled about 9 hours out on the CHAIN near our lake X, hint hint. Dumped a good amount of fuel, chipped alot of paint, 3 rips, one jumped and got off.
Sponger: was doing between 4 and 5mph...cranked it up to 6 or 7 and got our action that day. Hopping around Azrael at 7mph setting and cleaning lines was DEFINITELY an adventure, to say the least!

| If your using a super braid for line this could be your problum.
On my planner board rod's I use 25 pound BigGame, other wise the boards slide down the line or pop off. |

| Slamr, get the Red OR-16's. They have a pin in the middle of the pad. No way they will pop off. If you find the boards sliding down the line, loop the line around the front clip one more. I have not had a problem with board slippage using Tuff Line.

| The OR-18s are good. They are bigger or smaller than the ones that come with the boards and will hold onto the thin braids. You can order them directly from Offshore Tackle.
Here's something for you:

There is a link to them on that site. |

| Slamr you copy-cat![;)] Hey, I am not an offshore fan but you have to wrap the line around the front clip one time for it to stay. Then it will work. I use the mr. walleye church tackle boards. They stay clipped every time and are much easier to take on and off than the offshore boards. They pull big baits and stay in the water better too. |
