Hey I've asked some questions on here about the Trinidad before I purchased one and you guys were quite helpful so I'm going to try and return the favor. the real is a backlash beast you can't just snap on a double 10 and throw it or else you will be constantly picking backlashs. those of you that have this reel already know that. So the remedy snap a 3\4 ounce egg sinker into the your leader snap. Which makes a huge difference. Well for me about every 3rd cast the blades get caught under the weight and you get a fouled cast. So I called up Rollie and Helen's because I like their hammered blades (they deffintly pull better through the water) and they were able to custom make me some DCG that are an ounce and a half. This has made all the difference. With the butt of the bait weighted you can sling them a mile and the Trinidad handles them with ease. Also the new baits are great for slow rolling over deep weed flats being that they can get down deeper. Just thought I'd relay the info. try them out if you order some and don't like them you can sell them back to me. Good Luck

If you still want to weight your old cowgirls splitring the 3/4 ounce sinker onto the wire underneath the first treble hook next to the first set of flashabou.
