I am sure the same folks that asked for your support to help fight spearing and other issues in MN will offer up spots and advice for your trip to MN, no doubt they appreciate the support...BR

July and August will be good. The water temps have dropped the past week due to all the rain we have been getting. The middle of July will be an excellent time to be on the water up here.
Thanks for all of your support on the spearing issues Ben.

Dave T,

Try Cass the 3rd week of July. You wont be dissapointed.

I really like Leech the last 1/2 of Aug.

I don't catch as many fish as July, but they tend to be bigger. July seems to be more hit and miss with some cool summers in the last few years, but as stated earlier this is shaping up to be a good summer on Leech, both months should be good.

Late July and August are typically good bets for both waters.

I've usually had a great time and boared some of my largest fish the end of July on Cass. Bucktails, gliders and topwater all produce fish.

Don't forget that if you aren't looking for big water that there are alot of great smaller lakes with good size fish in them near Leach and Cass.

I think august is a great time to go, my best month in that area. But I think a lot will depend on the water temps.

The best time will be determined by the weather patterns and up here we barely know what tomorrows weather will be, much less in a month or two. I'd say go when it works best for you. It seems new and full moon periods are often best, but that isn't always true either. The fish bite when they want to.

Good luck.

I didnt say i would be fishing those lakes, just that i will be in that area..

I figured the water temps were up from 2009, was in the upper 60s when i fished in august last year...

Just havent been getting numbers like id prefer, thought i might try a few weeks earlier..

thanks for the replies

Ive fished a 2 week vacation on leech/cass the past 7 years...Its seems to vary and change year to year for me at least. Both months cant be a bad choice though. Good Luck
