I dont look to undercut the musky shops on things since they have been great supporters of muskie related projects,,,,however the little O rings for jerkbait leader making seem sooooooooo overpriced,,,,,has anybody found a cheaper outlet for these,,machine shop, home improvement retailer etc???

What little "O" rings are you talking about? Are you talking about split rings?

I know what you mean. If you're talking about the "welded" rings to make a wire leader, they do seem expensive in relation to other components. I haven't seen them with any tackle component suppliers - only the muskie tackle places. I will say, however, that they are a good investment and will outlast many, many, many leaders. I reuse them all the time without any problems. That may be why they are priced that way.

ebay you can get them for about .20 cents a piece...200 lb strength...Thorne Bros is where I use to get them and I don't think they have them anymore...they are spendy but like others have said you can use them over and over and over on your leaders if the fluoro/wire gets beat up...

They are called solid rings. If you have some old used ball bearing swivels that you are going to toss anyway you can cut the two end rings off them and use them as well. Make sure that they are not too worn.

Look for saltwater suppliers. Butterfly jigs use solid rings and you can generally find them much cheaper than the price you listed if you do some research. Awhile back Cabelas bargain cave had a bunch of owner solid rings.
