So with all the Lowrance questions I got to thinking about one of mine own. I bought a used LCX 15 two years ago and it never has been able to read a map card. Specifically I have the 2006 Navionics North. No matter if a card is in either slot or not, the locator only gives "Lowrance" as an option for card being used, nothing about Navionics, although in other areas it says it accepts Navionics chips. Is my card too new for this locator?

Can you upload/download waypoints to a blank SD card. If yes, the card slots are good. Next would be check compatibility card to unit. That is what I would put my money on.

well that unit will only take the classic cards . but i would suggest going to lowrances website and downloading the updates for that unit. that should fix it. and either u can use the 3.7 or 3.6. if your unit says "lowrance we find you fish you win " on the staetup it will takw the 3.7 and u can use newer cards but if it does not say that then you are stuck adding the 3.6 to the unit. i have 2 x15's on my boat and both have the 3.6 ...bill

I checked that, it currently is running at 3.6 and not upgradable. What specific cards are usable in it?

I have an lcx15 color that i used to use till I upgraded to new graphs. You have to use the old classic chip in these units.
