With all the attation on the dc10, i was wondering if anyone has the same success on sc10? I have made a few of my own, and well lets say i do not catch many of my fish of bucktails.

Anyone else try them?

No single 10's, but I have pretty good luck on a single 8 indiana blade (dreamcatcher).

I have tryed a single 10 before. I had clevise break on a double ten, losing one blade, and threw it several times. The spinner doesn't run straight and has a lot of wobble. Also there isn't any flare on the flashabou skirting.

I had some single 10 baits made for me over the winter buy Crazy Moon lures and they are going to be great on Lake St. Clair this year. They have a lot of body and large single gamakatsu hooks so they can be fished over and through the weed beds. They run great and I can't wait to throw them in a couple of weeks when LSC is open.
Here is their site if you are interested:

I have made some single 10 and single 12's and they are great runners and producers. Good thumping and not so hard on the arms after a couple of hours.

I have a couple of the muskiemetal bucktails and they run great, havn't caught anything on them yet but they do have great action. Alot easier on the arms!!!

No SC10's for me... the only single-bladed bucktails I've thrown are the Mepps Musky Killers early in the season.

I have never owned a single 10 but I would like one to try out. IMO those DC-10s are a pain to pull all day but I'm sure I don't have the best reel for the job. I still catch plenty of fish on single bladed tails, both Bucher and Mepps.

Yep, still throw them all the time. Probably more than double 10s. When I first started tying tails back in my highschool days, a guide up north that we were friends with asked me to tie up a 14" tail with one #10 blade. I did, he caught some big fish on it, and I still throw them to this day. I do have to say, my tails these days compared to then look much better from a tying standpoint, but they all caught (catch) fish. I tend to throw them during the day moreso than early in the morning and in the evening. However, I have done well at night as well.

Anyone see the Larry Dahlberg show (can't remember the name) where they used an underwater microphone to listen to the sound various baits make?

Single 10s are actually louder than doubles. Not sure what this means in terms of inaudible vibration that a fish might feel, but it was an interesting piece.

After I saw that show I could not believe how loud the single blade was. It was one of the reasons I had Crazy Moon make me some because it just has to be different than all the double tens out there. Just another tool in the toolbox and with the single hooks on mine I will be able to get through the weeds with it. I can't wait for LSC to open!
