Pike Bay, Bemidji, Big

Fished all three of these lakes on Saturday and didn't see a thing. Of course I didn't spend a whole lot of time an any one of them. Water temps were in the low 70's.

Pike Bay -- I was more curious than anything on Pike Bay, spent most of the time looking for areas on this lake to fish, there must be some muskies hanging out in this body of water but I didn't find any. Only major weedline I could find was on the north west shoreline.

Bemidji -- Water was starting to clear up but it was still very stained, clarity was about three feet with tan/brown stain. Much better than it was a few weeks ago, still didn't see a thing.

Big -- I spent most of the time out there marking spots into my GPS. I have yet to see a lake map that identifies half of the points/bars and sunken islands on this lake. I found a long bar that is probably 200 yards long and comes up to 5 feet that isn't on any lake map I have seen......

At least I have a few new spots to try out on each of these lakes.........

Good Luck,

John B

That is because you didn't have me to show you what to do! []
Hey, what do you have going on for Labor Day weekend? Let me know and maybe your luck will change.

You're defintely right about Big, you can find more than a few spots out there that few know about. I'd like to know that lake better than I do. Bemidji has still been hot for my boat, not seeing follows, only eaters. Wish I'd have been out there tonight, bet it'd have been awesome with this humid night out. Later

I fish Big alot and it seems like every time out you can find a different good looking spot if you look a little. Spend a hour or so each time out following breaks watching electronics, and punching marks in the GPS. Most of the mid lake bars have scattered patches of coontail on the 16 to 21 foot break and right now that is where the muskies are at. I got my first 50"er yesterday crankin' the deep weeds on one of the more popular spots.
