Posts: 1169 Location: New Hope MN | are there any rules against using slightly modified Suick lures? Like repainting, adding weight, adding blades, and/or changing hook location?
None of my suicks are completley stock... I like to tinker.
Also, what's the entry fee? |

Posts: 636 Location: Bloomington, MN | This tournament will fill up quickly with this low entry fee and potential HUGE winnings! I'm sure a Musky Nut and Mojo Weagles will not qualify for the extra $10k, so I/we better do some shopping. The Suick Muskie Thriller has always been the lure to toss on Pelican, and especially during the time this tournament takes place. This is a fantastic reason to have less "Stuff" in the boat. If and when a 50" hits the net, don't be surprised that it is a tiger. Pelican has produced some big tigers over the last few years, and as we all know they are a really stupid breed of fish. |

Posts: 1030 Location: APPLETON, WI | FYI... If anyone is fishing this or wanting to fish it - and does not yet have a boating partner, please let me know. I'd be willing to split the cost of the entry fee + toss in cash for gas money. My weekends are free and clear so if we needed to pre-fish and/or do some scouting - I am available for that, as well. Thanks, everyone! |

Posts: 393 Location: Hopefully on the water | Here is a question to the bonus parts of this. Let's say person X catches a 50" and it is the first 50 but not on a Suick lure. They win the boat. Now if person Y catches a 50" and it is on a Suick lure but could be the 2nd actual 50" of the tournament. They would win the $10,000 if they are the first 50' on a Suick Lure. Is this correct? So there could be 2 major winners of the bonus items in a sense, correct?
I sent in the registration yesterday and will be sharpening Suick hooks until then. Our boat will have at least one Suick lure in the rod at all times for this one. We are lloking forward to fishing it. See you then.

i am wondering if I still have to fill out the entry form to reserve my spot.
if anyone knows the details on this please let me know.
thanks! |

| Yes you still have to send in the entry form, but exclude the money since you get a fee entry in last year. If you still have the slip that states that it would be great otherwise write a note with it so I don't wonder where the entry fee is. |

Posts: 28 Location: Sauk Centre MN | Gus_Webb and I are signed up! I'm spending the next 2 months tuning my suicks. Posts: 393 Location: Hopefully on the water | Dmack, That is the partially the same that I am wondering also. Now on the flip side of it. What if someone catches a 50 on something other than a Suick and is the first theyy get the boat. Now if a 50 comes in after the first 50 but is caught on a Suick do they get the $10,000 for the first 50 on a Suick lure. That is how I read it "ALSO if you catch the first 50" musky registered and successfully released on a Suick Lure you will receive $10,000.00!!! " Maybe I am wrong but I guess I wouldn't mind to have this cleared up or if I am wrong to let me know. Is it the first 50 irreguardless and if it happens to be on a Suick they get both or is there the possibility for a double pay out (yes, the moon, stars, luck and eveything would have fall just right) but just wondering. |
|

|
Posts: 290
| It's an all for one prize for the 50'. If the first 50 is on a Suick then the 10000.00is given out. If its not on a Suick then the 10000.00 is gone. Basically as I stated it's a one for all prize. They will clarify this in detail at the rules meeting. If you have any more questions just let me know |

The nice part about his place is that you have a private boat ramp. I just need to get a larger Suick Weagle, I've got enough Musky Nut & Musky Mojo ones, and I should be all set! All Suicks, all the time...at least for that day.

Posts: 636 Location: Bloomington, MN | I'm looking forward to this tournament more than I was going to Disney World in 1973! I actually raised a practical question to myself tonight. Since it is a non-transport tourney, will a Judge boat if/when a 50" is boated be able to verify the length without having the fish transported, and witnessed by a specific individual (since a 50" from Pelican can be legally taken to the Dells for a Duck ride)? The last tournament I fished required transport of the fish and the witnessing by a insurance bonded person (righty so) for the boat prize. The reasoning behind this question is that I have a P.O.S. boat w/o a livewell. I have a portable one, but if I don't need to bring it, I won't.

| this tourney the judge boats come to you. they give you a list of numbers to call.
chances are that mr. worral will want to be involved with the verfication of a 50 if caught.
or im sure there will be some sort of promotional deal where they want pics if its caught on a suick. so itll probably be gone over in the rules meeting.
but yeah, its not a transport tourney. |
|
|
|
Posts: 225 Location: Nordeast Minneapolis | So the judge's boat will handle measuring any fish caught? Just wondering if I need to pick up a bump board before the tourney, or if I can wait until Christmas as I had originally planned... |
|
|
|
Posts: 290
| The judge boats will come to you.. there is no need for a live well or a bump board. The judge boats will have everything needed. If a 50 is caught there will be at least 2 judges verifying the length on the water. We are planning on having enough judges that they will probably see you catch a musky and be there before you get it in..
THERE ARE ONLY 4 SPOTS LEFT!!! |
