| Since the 75 share the 1.5L block with the 90, 115 and now the 125xs, is it possible to boost the output of this engine?
I have looked around a little, but havent had much luck nailing down what would need to be retrofitted to make this happen. Would I be better off just buying another engine?
Make hp rating on my boat is a 90 |

There are also EPA regulations/restrictions in that you cannot "legally" manipulate the output of an outboard engine since any modifications are not EPA tested as they are for cars (like intake manifolds, exhaust headers, etc).
I know hydrotec marine for Yamaha has a few hop-up items in their 2 stroke engines (carbed and throttle body engines) ranging from new exhaust tuners, shaved heads, throttle body spacers, etc, carbon reeds (for 2 stroke) big bore carbs.. Last time I was at their website I believe I saw some mercury items as well...
Hoping I am not breaking any rules with this, but here is the website: http://www.hydrotecmarine.com

Location: Uxbridge Ontario | I was just thinking that with there being so many HP rating off the same block if there was a simple change to create 90 or 115 from a 75. Maybe something as simple as an EMC change or something as simple as reprogram and fuel pumps and injectors??? I dont know what would be involved or if its even possible, but I would think if they are all OEM part that EPA regs would not be in question???
If it is something like a new power head, that's a little outside the scope of simple change. |

Location: Uxbridge Ontario | I did check out that Hypertec sight. Pretty cool some of the stuff they are able to do, but not much product for anything under a 2.5L block... and even less for anything but Yamaha. I did see some Merc stuff, but again, all 2.5L and above. |

| You need to speak with a good tech who knows these motors.
Your thought process is right Steve, it maybe just a computer flash and an injector swap.
My Dad is a diesel tech and from what i understand most modern diesel engines can be tuned up a couple hundred horse power in some applications with only a computer flash and a new set of injectors. |
