| Hey guys I have a quick question. So I have an figrig 7'3" with a C4 that I mainly use as a back up or if someone comes in the boat. The problem is that the reel seems to be very unstable on the rod's reel seat. The reel seems to wobble on the rod when reeled, nothing horrible that it could be a major problem but more of an annoyance. Is there any modification that I can use to stop my reel from wobbling on the rod and to stay sturdy.
Thanks for the help

Location: In a shack in the woods | Is the reel seat wobbling on the reel where the two rivets are? If so take a punch and hit the rivets. That should smash them down and make things tight again. That's what shimano told me to do with my torium. They said I could send it in and they could do it with their special punch but this way's good enough for me. |

| Nope its no the reel but the rods reel seat. When the reel is in the rods reel seat, the reel never seems to fit the seat so it wobbles when reeled. Quite a mouth full. |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Electrical tape on the reel. Just a few wraps on both ends should firm up the seat. Wrap it very tight, put the reel back on the rod and tighten down. Don't over tighten, those rods had a reputation for stripping out the reel seat. |

| There are plastic reel shims you can get that will work even better than tape. Call shimano or Garcia and they can provide. |

Location: New Hope MN | I used a saltwater reel clamp for my saltist. It's overkill and gets in the way a little, but it works extremely well. The reel doesn't budge. |
