This lure has caught my attention every time I get near one. none of the guys i fish with have one either. So looking for some feedback on this bait. Any Big Daddy fans out there?

I threw the large weighted this year and loved it. I could work it deeper and it nearly suspends. Crazy , nice wiggle too. "They'll bite on that!!"

it really seems like it should work......good action, i have tried it off and on throughout last yr hoping something would happen w/ it, and never ever a look.....gave it a decent amount of time too....its very tiring to work, alot of resistance. i have a couple if you want to buy them, send a PM

I like it a lot. It's got a tight wiggle/wobble, kind of like Bobbie on steroids...runs fairly deep and with a slow rise. I like the durability of the lexan lip, and have had success using it over, in and through rocks/boulders. Good bait.

I has a deeper dive and wider shimmy than most lures of it's kind, however the slow rise shimmy has been deadly. What I also found was that if you v the tail moderately, hard snaps make it dive and fly all over the place without blowing out, which drives those reluctant hawgs wild.

It is a hell of a trolling bait as well. Every arsenal should have at least one. The Black sucker is dynamite!

Love both the Big and small versions. Really effective bait for jerk trolling.

I don't fish a lot of dive/rise jerks but when I do my Big Daddy is the first out of my box for reasons stated above.

I also like the Big Daddy, you can cup the lip as well for a wider swing!! I dont mean bend the lip up or down but like a half moon, kinda like bending the tail around a tennis ball! Love the lexon lip too, when you hit a rock it chip the wood!

What are most of you using the unweighted or weighted version? How much of a difference is there between the two in how they fish?

I prefer the weighted. It has a slower rise and digs a bit deeper.

I owned one. It had awesome action and got down nice and deep...But the short screw eyes are a bit scary.

I am really surprised that this lure has not taken off. I retired by Suicks and Bobbies years ago, I think they are better than Suicks in the weeds and with the plastic lip are more durable than Bobbies in the Rocks .I also like when your lure gets close to the Boat you can just reel into your Fig 8 with a nice swimming wobble. With short hard jerks to keep the head down you can work this through the thickest weeds just make sure it lands in clean water. Some are more buoyant than others. I prefer the real buoyant ones so they pop back up on the pause .I also epoxy the front Eye.

I like my big daddy but you might want to check out an EZ-E riser too. It gets down a little deeper and has a slower death rise that I like. On the straight crank it has action like a giant bass-o- reno. Both are great dive + rise jerks.
