Looks like it's going to be a great opener this year but... Watch out for the boat landings in northern Wisconsin. I'm up in Vilas Co. and some of the lakes are down up to 8ft. Lakes with cricks flowing in are holding there own or might be down only a few inches. Land locked lakes and flowages however may not be accessible to bigger boats. The rain keeps going just south of us and we need it badly. With the early ice off and the warm weather the spawn should happen early and the muskies should be recovered for the opener. Look forward to seeing you on the water just make sure that you check with local sports shops or resorts before you make the trip.

It is a good warning to those who have bigger boats or coming from out-of-town. I am in Burnett County and lakes are also down up to 8ft, much like last summer. I cannot tell you how many outta-towners I saw last year with big boats that got bottomed out or just had a hell of a time launching. (It can be funny, especially when they forget to put in their plug)
