Location: Land O' Lakes WI | Well, not really two openers, but sorta like 2 openers.
Land O’ Lakes is a border town. Lakes that are completely in Wisconsin open on the traditional Memorial Day musky opener.
However border lakes like Lac Vieux Desert, the Cisco Chain and many others that are completely in MI open on May 15th. Michigan opener is always May 15th regardless of what day of the week it falls on, but this year it's a Saturday! This makes fishing the MI opener easier for guys drining up from the south. If you have cabin fever, and want to fish some pristine northern waters consider the Land O’ Lakes area, two weeks before the regular WI opener.
