I am looking at a Ranger 620 VS and will need to add a 10 - 15h.p. kicker. Any ideas on costs to rig??

This will depend on the motor. If you rig one of the new kickers, Mercury's Pro Kicker or Yamaha's T8, both of them come with power T/T. If you go with an older motor and you want a Panther Lift put on, then that will cost you more.

Just for rigging the motor, it'll run you $150-350. If you put a Panther Lift on, that'll have to be installed then, that'll run $500 give or take a little.

probably at least 2k for the motor and another 1k for remote steering and throttle controls. So maybe 3k total. Just a guess based on what it costs from Ranger.

That's if he decides to go with remote steering and throttle controls, he doesn't specify. A lot of guys just run the kicker with the tiller handle. But your right on with price if remote steering and throttle controls are needed.

I will take suggestions on motor size and how to properly rig. I need to be able to fish in lakes with 25 h.p. or less and it probably would be best to be able to steer from the console and have remote steering and throttle. Also have some way to get the engine up when not in use. I have a 25 hp 2 stoke on my lund now and was wondering would that be too large?

I definately could use advise on this

Thanks

I'd suggest the Mercury Fourstroke Pro Kicker. A 25hp motor is a lot of unnecessary weight and quite frankly a lot more motor than you need. That motor will also not be able to dial in like the 9.9 Pro Kicker.

Here are the features of the Mercury Pro Kicker:

My suggestion, go and talk with your local Ranger dealer if that's the type of boat your looking at. They can give you exact pricing on everything and talk about all the options such as remote steering and throttle controls.
