Location: Sw Pennsylvania | Spent the day fishing with good friend Paul Fec and his son Christian on a PA lake. Trolled most of the day with no action, about 30 mins before we were ready to call it a day my side rod ripped off some line and within 2 mins this fish lay in the bottom of the net. I give more credit to this catch to Paul and Christian then i do myself. This was a team effort to catch this fish, i didn't catch the fish alone, we all caught this fish. The fish took a 5.5 jtd Wiley. The dimensions were 49" by 27.5" girth...Also the fish was successfully released after a few photos and swam away rather impressively if i must say so.

| For your information--and I hope he doesn't get mad for my disclosing this--the Allegheny River Kid is Mr. Joel Morrow of Armstrong County, Pennsylvania. Heck of an angler. Heck of a sportsman. The kind of nice guy who is willing to share knowledge and first hand experience with those less knowledgeable and experienced than he. |

IMO, that fish was already at it's optimal prime and heaviest potential....without blowing up that is...LOL...It was spewing crap all over my boat and filled with eggs getting ready to spawn in a few weeks. In a few months, that fish will be lucky to carry a weight in the mid 30s. |

Location: Sw Pennsylvania | Thanks everyone for all the kind words and comments, it means alot to me! I want to extend a big thanks to Mr. Paul Fec (ShutUpNFish) who is being to humble of man about this catch. I feel he had more to do with it than i actually did, without him none of this would of happened. A great man and great fisherman and a great friend!
P.S. Definitely looking into getting ordering a replica at some point this season.. This is truely a fish of lifetime for me and i cant pass up the opportunity! |
