| The First WI Chapter of Muskies Inc is hosting its 26th Annual Tournament Sept 13-15, 2002 on the waters of Chippewa and Rusk Counties in WI.
This is the biggest fundraiser for our chapter and the proceeds go to our rearing pond. Muskies from this pond are stocked into local waters.
Please consider joining us for a fun filled weekend. Last year, 96 fish were caught with 290 contestants. A one in three average of fish to contestant is pretty good. The largest fish entered in the tourney was 50".
We also have drawings from ALL contestants for 2 - $1000 cash prizes and also a week's stay at Bay Store, NW Angle - LOTW.
There are fishing prizes for total points and for largest release by body of water.
For more information and a printable entry form please see our website: http://firstwi.muskiesinc.org/tourney/Index.htm

| HH, did you see the part in my post where it says "The 26th Annual"
We've been at it for a while and it's been this same weekend for quite a few years. I can't remember how many but it's been a while. When we did change the date it was based on a survey of our tourney contestants and the tourney grows in size each year.
I do agree that it's not good to have so many on the same weekend but there's only so many weekends and a gazillion tournies now days.
Sigh. Guess we just have to pick one and go for it.
Good luck to all no matter where you fish.

| Jono
Guess I was just wondering if theres some biological or legal reason why there all on that weekend,, also thats the small game hunting opener[GROUSE] for alot of the midwest,,guess its just a coincidence |
|
| |
|
| Ya, there is something about that. I think part of the reason we don't go too far into Sept is because of the Bowhunting. Then again, it might be the same weekend as the opener, come to think of it. I'm not sure since I haven't bowhunted in years.
There's another tourney that I've always wanted to fish but it always falls on Duck opener. There's just too many cool things to do in fall!!!

| Yea, there is four tourneys.
North Metro had to take the Sept 13 - 14 date on Tonka due to thats the date we won in the raffle. Can't change that.
It is unfortunate. I would like to see some dates in October myself.

| Jono,is tournament fishing allowed on Dells Pond/Chippewa River? If it is,I may have to enter. Thanks and Good Luck,Paul |
|

|
| Hi UFO (heh-heh),
No, Dells is out. Cutoff is the NSP dam in Chippewa so the flats is the farthest down river you can fish. Lots of good water upstream! Hope you enter.
