Location: Racine, Wi | Hey kids,
I'm gonna piggy back off of Jerry's thread if I may.
So I finally updated my website from it's earlier version (had to get the current version of the forum running to get rid of the spam, which is nice not to deal with now). I re-made the entire site from start to finish. I think I need to reduce the size of some of the pics so they load faster, but that's going to be quite the project. Other than that, please let me know what ya think. Changes needed, things that you like, etc. Let's hear it, good and bad. I can handle the critics.

Thanks!!!!

| Great Job!!! That is a great site! |

| Like the site, easy to navigate. One recommendation would be to lessen the width of the page so you don't have to scroll from side-to-side to see everything (a pet-peeve of mine). Otherwise, good job! |

| Looks good. I see your full day rate is about $100.00 cheaper than many of the other guides'. Nice site. |

Location: The desert | Seeing your face and your email of "dancertails" kind of creeps me out. What kind of boat are you running? Is this like the Minnesota Viking love boat? Dancer Tails would be a great name for a strip club....I certainly hope you don't gyrate and slide around the pedestal seat.
Do you get a discount if you bring a bottle of Kessler's to drink at 4 in the morning? |

PP, Kesslers is always welcome. Smooth as silk, and if a fish is in the boat at 4am, a celebratory shot (optional) cna be done. lol
Critter, I have to resize some of the newer pictures (and most of them in the photo album) so they load quicker. Thanks for the comment though. My father in law said the same thing (although his computer loads slower than mine does because he's on Minocqua net lol) I just have to find a day to go through and find the resized pics, or resize the ones I have in there. |

| The website looks cool to me. Easy to navigate, not too busy, and not too boring. Is there a reason why it's all written in the third person on your home page, instead of just using "I"? Is that a professional thing? The other thing I noticed is the line "Welcome to the Joel Michel Guide Service Website" You could get it on one line if you said something like "Welcome to Joel Michel's Guide service" instead. Might look a little cleaner that way, and I think anyone who finds their way there will already know it's a website anyway...
I like how you are smiling in your pictures. Seems like a silly thing, but a lot of guide websites have pictures of a guy who looks like he wants to rip your head off. For someone who is just starting out and doesn't know one guide from another, I think there's a serious intimidation factor in a lot of cases. |

| Site looks great!!! It has all the info and is layed out nicely. The only things I noticed were what others have already mentioned. The slow loading pictures is a big one. People (clients) coming to the site want to see those pics with those big fish and if they load slowly you risk having them leave and going to another site. Also, the screen size is an easy fix and you don't have to compress your text to get them to fit. If you want give me a call and I can help you fix it over the phone. I also know of a couple free downloads that may help out the picture problem. 715-305-7295 |

Location: Racine, Wi | Thanks again guys for the input. I'll definitely make some of the suggested updates as mentioned above. The kids are at grandma and grandpas for the week, so I'll have some time to work on the updates.
Laird, if I can't figure that out, I'll give you a call. Thanks! |
