I have a Trinidad 12 that I used last year and really liked the way it casted. I used 80 Power Pro and I was going to switch to 100 Power pro and was wondering about the different diameter line with a reel without a level wind. How much Will the spool size change on a long cast? Will I benefit with the larger diameter line and have less backlashes? I don't have a lot of backlashes, but when I do they are horrific. Who has used a Trinidad 12 and what pound test are you using? Thanks!

I use a 16 I had suffix 100# spooled on it for the first half of the season and had a ton of backlashes. I changed to the 100# power pro and wont put anything else on it after switching to it. Alot less backlashing although louder through the eyelets on the rod.

The diameter of the line isnt much different so it shouldnt effect it too much I know between my calcutta and trinidad after getting used to casting with it I can cast further with it now.

I use 100lb Bronzback on a 16n with out to many problems..
Casting double ten's into the wind can be challenging at times.
I would say that 100lb test line on a 12n should be fine, but I think your cast's may be a bit shorter.
