I have a long plastic tube that industrial drills came in that I use. This allows them to be stored without bending.

i have mine on a small board (piece of pine 1x4) with a couple of eyelit screws. i use a small nail on one side for the non-clasp side. i use a rubber band to keep them under a small bit of tension. I just put them in the boat that way. This is what i do with mono leaders. for wire, i store them in my tackle box and just hang them in the corner straight down.

The mono leaders get in the way in my tackle box and always end up hooked on something. Sometimes they even get folded on accident or slammed in the lid when i close the box.

Do any of you coil your fluoro leaders? I do but of course it tends to make the leaders want to stay that way when you first put them on.

I use a fly leader wallet to store my 7 strand leaders. The one I use is made by Cortland. It has individual ziplock bags and also come with card so you can write leader info. Very handy and doesn't take up a lot of space.

I need to get to a hardware store and actually do this, but I've heard a length of PVC pipe with caps (don't glue them on) works well. I'm guessing about 14-16 inches x 1 1/2 or so would do the trick. Should Keep everything straight and in one place.

Quite a variety of ways. I have mine in a compartment of my plano box.

I leave my flouro leaders in one of the pockets in my tackle box in the stealth package. Being coiled is no different than sitting on a store shelf for who knows how long

Hi Everyone,

I just purchased a plano 3600 size box and didn't add any of the dividers to it. So...I can lay my leaders flat, have them sorted by size (diameter of wire for me), and still have a couple of slots with dividers that I can put extra snaps, split rings, swivels, etc.

Fits in my front compartment of the boat, out of the way, and when one needs replacement, a new one is at hand quickly, and I can put the old one in there to reuse parts if they are in decent enough shape.

Steve

I use something similar. Same idea with the zip lock bags, but it's a smaller tackle bag from Bass Pro Shops for my floro and 7 strand leaders. Nice because you can label the zip lock bags with what # test the leaders are.

I use the empty flavored drink ( like Kool Aid) containers from Walmart. The Stealth leaders fit without hardly bending, I also use them for extra 10 blades, sinkers, glow beads. It's a good way to keep sucker harness'es and regular leaders seperate, and it does't take up as much room as a plano box.

I use small PVC pipe/tubes. I can fit 4-5 leaders in each tube and I cut them to length so they fit in a slot in my Lakewoods.

I use a binder made for soft plastic bass baits. It has about 8 separate zip lock type pages/sleeves in it. I can put longer trolling leaders in a couple sleeves, regular length leaders in a couple sleeves ect. I also put all my leader making components including a spool of flourocarbon in there. Works quite handy for me. Yes the leaders have to be coiled up but its a pretty loose coil and they straighten out well. Can be found at bass pro ect.

Yes but that pipe is way too thick. If you can someone that had a rod blank shipped to them, cut a section off that. Also when you place the PVC caps on I pull on each end and the side that comes off the easiest gets a dab of silicon to hold it on. This is not an issue of both are tight fitting, then like curlytail says leave them unglued. When I get time I will post pics of mine.

I use the Venom Store a Rig, Alabama rig holder. Cabelas sells them for $4, they are 12" long and work for most leaders.

Floor of boat or loose in storage compartment with Floro. Otherwise make on demand for my single strand wire, and Floro if I don't have a pre-made one I want to use.

Huh? Mine pretty much maintains the bend that's in it when I buy it in a circular looped pouch. I would say that's the definition if memory.

it does not get kinked. Cast a lure and it straightens right out.

Ah. Agree with you there for the most part. In my experience fish also tend not to roll up on it as much as 7 strand wire

I really liked the idea of the PVC thin walled tube for leader storage. I was at Cabalas this evening and I found this tube on clearance for a $1.99. Thought I’d share, it may be of interest to some of you.
