I have an 8' heavy avid i know they don't make that rod anymore but an 8 or an 8.8' in a heavy or xh should be fine.

I run a 6'10" rod, not a St Croix but a Loomis. I throw the shorter rod just for jerk baits to keep from slapping on the water. My boat's front casting deck isn't as high as some out there. If I had my choice on the best jerk rod I've held, it goes to a St Croix Legend "The Jerk"

Shawn, Shawn, Shawn - Come to my garage, you can take a peak at all the musky rods St.Croix offers. I'm sure you will find that perfect one! Just keep your paws off my baits.
