I've inquired about this before but am hoping to have a chance to finally pick something up this fri at the ohio show. I'm leaning toward the okuma 9'3" telescoping rod over the musky armor rod. Seems like lifetime warranty over one year is a much better investment.

Would the 9'3"heavy okuma suffice for mad dawgs/super d's and cowgirls? I really don't want the XH if I don't need it.

As for reels I'm hearing alot about the revo toro. Which model for nthe above mentioned applications? I have a abu 7000I (red reel) which is ok but looking for better. The gear ratio on the 7000I is 4.1:1. Can anyone give me an expanation of how that would apply to the toro as I see they have different models with different gear ratios. Also, I checked the abu site and didn't see anywhere that tells you how many inches of line per turn they crank in.

I'm open for other suggestions as well and I guess I'll have to see whats available at the show. Thanks for any help!

No - you want the 9'3" XH (It is really what I would call heavy anyway). Paired with a Revo Toro 60 (5.4-1) makes a great all-around combo. You can do everything but burn 10's for extended periods...

I would agree with the Toro 60 5.4:1. It is my go to reel and use it for everything but burning double tens or larger. Cant really provide much help on the rods cause I have never used them.

The okuma 8'6" will work great for big baits. I use mine for large bulldawgs, 10x bucktails etc... i have the XXH. i haven't heard of anyone unhappy with the okuma EVX. if you are throwing large heavy baits i would say XH for sure.
