Location: Scotland | Yes the 60 is wider than the 50, I have had both but found the curado 301 a better reel than the 51 revo. I cant find anything better than the 61 toro |

Location: Scotland | I only cast reg dawgs and 8" castaics with mine and never had any problems, dunno what you mean big??
To be honest I have never had any problems with anti reverse on a multiplier, heard a few folk saying it had gone but it was seriosly old reels or dodgy servicing that caused it. Have you had problems with it? |

Location: Latitude 41.3016 Longitude 88.6160 | Go with the TORO WINCH 60, reel comes with a std handle and a power handle. I have sold off my Calcutta TE's, I now have 4 TORO reels today, you can palm this reel all day long. The TORO comes in 3 gears 6.4:1, 5.4:1 and 4.7:1, the high speed 6.4:1 picks up slack line from a top water very fast, the 5.4:1 is great all around reel, and the Winch 4.7:1 has a line pickup rate of 23" per turn of the handle and with a main gear that is 40mm tall this reel will pull in any DCG10-13 all day with ease. |

Location: Latitude 41.3016 Longitude 88.6160 | Your right no TORO will burn them like a Shimano Trinidad 16n, which I have but last year I used my 16N maybe 10% of the time that I was on the water. 2 years ago on some of the MN. waters super fast burning was the ticket but not last year for me. I use the 4.7:1 WINCH and the 5.4:1 Toro about 95% of the time. I night fish about 80% of the time so the WINCH is what I use to slow roll DCG10-13 at night for me. |

| I have had my 300 for a couple seasons and recently bought a winch for big bladed bucks. The 300 will do it at a faster pace but will wear you down quicker throughout the day. |

| To the original posters question I will not say which one is better as that is something that you will have to decide for yourself, but the differences are:
Toro is available in a 50 or 60 size wheras a Curado is only available in there 300 size (roughtly the same as the toro 50 as far as size goes)
The curado is only available in one gear ratio (6.2) wheras the Toro is available in 3 (4.6, 5.4, 6.4) IMHO the 6.2 or 6.4 is to fast for a general purpose musky reel. They are good for things like jerk or glide baits.
The Toro has a sychronized line guide on the cast which I feel is very important, the Curado doe not.
The Curado comes with a double handle and the Toro comes with both a double and single handle. |
