Does anyone have a saltist 30hA? Please let me know how you like it. It seems like it is built well.

After one season of light/medium use, the clutch (spool release lever spring) on my 30ha failed. At the same time I experienced some gear issues. Unfortunately, I purchased the reel late last fall and thought I bought it in February and I didn't return it until recently, so the one year warranty is over. We'll see how Daiwa takes care of me. Shimano gives great service so it will be good to compare.

I bought one in July and had the clutch spring go out on me one night in August after heavy blade use. I exchanged it for another one and that one lasted about a month and a half before the clutch spring went out again. I was told that it can break by engaging the spool on the cast, but I know how to cast and this was not the cause on either reel. I loved the reel other than that problem though, but I can't be returning reels every month. The last time I exchanged it for a calcutta 700.
