| The lake that I fish has one bridge crossing it. It is made of concrete with abutments at three different locations in the water. On both sides of the bridge, it is hilly with lots of rip-rap extending into the water. The hard bottom drops off quickly into 25-30 feet of water, with very little structure present. The main channel runs thru the middle of the bridge with a lot of underwater trees there. This area is accesible from both sides by boat. I have had some luck fishing (Muskies) the deep water trees (55 ft. of water there) by trolling lures thru the tops of them at approx. 15 feet deep. I've also caught Bass at the base of the abutments and occasionally catch Bass (but never Muskies) by casting paralell to the rip rap. I usually fish the windy side (wind blowing toward that side).
How would you fish this area, or would you fish it at all? |

| I had a humongo ski "bump" a 007 bait next to a bridge abutment a couple yrs ago that freaked me out; never seen that before! I'd fish the area as it has timber + also serves as current break/ambush point.[:sun:] |

| Kid, I fish several waters that have bridges on them. I have yet to find one that doesn't hold Muskies from time to time. It is also a prime tournament spot for me. I have caught many tournament fish at or very near bridges and the surrounding rip rap etc. Not always big ones but a great place to fish. I beleive it has to do with current and baitfish movement. By the way, don't let boat traffic bother you. These fish are used to boat traffic and activity. |

| Usually bridges are neck down areas and awesome fall spots especially in your case with deep water. Forage will migrate there at that time. Trolling would be a great option if your presentation needs to be deeper. Drag a sucker through there too if they are available. |

| If you don't object to jigging, why don't you try jigging a large creature or a Fuzzy Duzzit just above the tree tops? [:sun:] |

| Otter: Good point. I use jigs, but never thought about using them in this particular spot because I've had good luck with crankbaits here. I'll give it a try. |
