We lost one of our good friends and great muskie fisherman yesterday afternoon.

John Muliett (aka LOKE) passed away yesterday, with his family. Stayed tuned to www.lscmomc.com for funeral arrangements and details, as we learn them.

Please keep the Muliett family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time for them. As always, please respect their privacy.

Godspeed John - go catch that 70 lb'r.

With deep condolences,
Scott D'Eath - MOMC Vice President

"John Muliett, of Fair Haven Michigan, began Loke Lures as a personal hobby in the mid 1980’s by crafting a small quantity of custom musky lures for personal use. As word of these “custom” lures began to spread rapidly, fisherman from all over flooded the small shop on located on Port Loke Marina wanting to know who made such lures and where can they get theirs. Over the years, the quality and production of all Loke’s has grown to a level never thought possible by such lures. As we are continually growing in size, our lures are now being sold worldwide to fisherman all with the same dream in mind, to land the new record."

John B. Muliett

John Baptist Muliett died peacefully on February 10, 2010, after a long illness.

An avid fisherman, he was a long-time member of the Michigan-Ontario Muskie Club. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Rose; son, John Gregory “Greg” Muliett; daughter, Cathie (Robert) Tripolsky; and grandchildren Mary Catherine Muliett and John Raymond Tripolsky. He was preceded in death by daughter-in-law Patricia Barnard Muliett.

Services to celebrate his return to his Creator will be on Saturday, February 13, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 7051 Church Rd., Ira Township, MI 48023. Visitation will begin at 10:30 AM, followed by Mass at 11:00 AM. In leau of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the Immaculate Conception Building Fund.

Sad news indeed... He was one of the pioneers and will be missed by many. His lures have been an absolute staple in a muskie trolling arsenal for many years. A true artist and craftsman... Best to his family and freinds.
