Just been looking into making a trip up there and noticed that alot of the camps that are accessible by water have you go to a place at Young's Bay and you either launch there or get picked up there. So i was just wondering what security was like at this place. Are you comfortable leaving your truck and trailer there for a week unattended.

Also how are the accomadations at Bill Sandys Blackhawk Resort?

And if lets say you didn't mind spending a little bit more for nicer accomodations in that area what would you guys recommend.

Thanks

I haven't heard of an issue - there are 50+ new trucks and Ranger trailers in the lot all-season. Probably had my rig there 200 days in the last 8 years.... But the lot is not lighted and people are crazy so never say never...Sandy's is nice and its almost all muskie guys. You could check out Frolanders or Big Narrows Resort both feed you while you are there (American plan -only option) and nice too... Wiley's Point is very nice (thats where I would stay if you are willing to spend more) there is some great water to the east/se of wiley that see's little pressure. But its like 16 miles from Youngs bay.

JUSTON, Great reply to Obfuscate, He's just confused, bewilderd, that you have a life, 25 days a year isn't all that many if you live near by or own a place on the Angle. l Id say you whould have more than that. My wife and I have had many 2 week vacation trip's to the Angle every year for a period of 25 years that whould give us over 350 days of parking there. We have never had any trouble with the parking at the angle. The only problem we ever had is how to get all that beer out to the resort without sinking the boat.

Lundbob, Sandy's is about as pricey as I get, and the camp is one of the best around. Blackhawk Island is as good a place to start learning the LOTW'S as any. GO FISH. Marv.

There aren't too many reasons to go to the Angle so if there was a problem up there it would likely come from a visitor. The locals depend on the tourists and would be dealt with harshly by their own if one was caught doing anything to damage their tourism draw. You never know who you will get at the parking lot but I can't imagine sportsmen making the trip up there are going to be messing with your stuff.
