| I bought this boat that has a LGS -3000 puck on it.I mounted my HDS 7 be hind the wind sheild and want to use the puck for sat recep and I can't get to the unit to find it |

| No it is in my garage. I pick up 6 sats. with the HDS. |

| That's more than likely your problem. Sometimes (and I stress sometimes) you can get the GPS puck to pick up the satellites in your garage, but you'll usually need to be outside. |

I was gonna say that, but don't know for sure, so I held my tongue, but I thought that too. Or it may just be that you need the 4000 for the HDS' "optimum" performance; the faster refresh rate and lower distance error. I know the 4000 is faster and more accurate than the internal antenna. |
