Hello,

some days ago I find a source for stainless steel eyes. So I took a Do It mold and modify them. The result is a jig head with a second "eye". If it is very difficult to set a hook because the fishes bite to short you can add a treble hook to the head. A free moving treble hook grab better than any other hook. You can use a treble hook with an open shank or use it with with a split ring. If the fishes have hunger a bite aggressive you need no treble hook. I think the second eye doesn't spoil the performence or function. The next time I will modify my other molds.

Tight lines, Dietmar

One thing you might want to do is to run a short leader off of the new hole so you can run the treble hook back further on the jig. I would think that you would get more short hitters that way verses having the treble right under the main hook.

Just a thought.

Oh,

sorry I explained it wrong. Here in Germany most angler use stinger hooks for their soft baits. They use it on their 3" Fin S and also on 30" shads or twister/grubs. But there are some days in the year the fish don't bite on the tail or the middle of the lure. On these special days they bite only on the head of the bait. I think on this days an additional treble hook at the jig head is a good solution to catch some fish more.

Bye, Dietmar

I like your modification to add that treble to the head. Most fish end up hitting there anyway on the big shad type baits.
