| The New weighted leaders from Stealth Tackle are fantastic. Got some to use in 2009 and they helped put more fish in the boat for sure. They keep your baits in the strike zone and add better action to alot of jerkbaits.
The new crankbaits from Live Action Lures are great also. They will be at Milwaukee, Madison and Minn. Stop by his booth and check them out.
Thanks,
Jeff Hanson

Location: Land of the Musky | I will have over 200 new SKUs in 2010 that I will be rolling out. That should put me a hair above 1000 SKUs total by mid 2010. My wife keeps telling me this is no longer a hobby. I keep telling her that when I stop enjoying it then its a job, not a hobby!
Coming soon for Tackle Industries:
1) New swimbaits
2) New spinnerbait (about 500 color/size combinations in each spinnerbait!) This one is 3 years in the making.... 10 double skirt color combinations with 5 blades per spinnerbait all interchangeable and variable depths and under $20!
3) Two new hybrid crankbaits. A hard/soft deep and shallow diving crank. 21 colors each and I will take this to over 40 colors soon after that.
4) New 10" jointed trolling lure in 42 colors.
5) 12 or 18 new rod colors combos in all 6 powers (with removable handles) I currently carry but I am still debating this one for how many to roll out. Rods take up WAY too much room!!! My last production took up an entire semi truck for delivery and took over 2 hours to hand unload for the wife and I. Not fun.
6) I may take all 6 lines of MiniDs, SuperDs, MegaDs to over 60 stock colors per size.
Some possibilities in 2010 or they will come in 2011
7) May do a jointed Mag Shad
8) Tube bait(s)
9) A standard line of #10 and #12 or #13 spinnerbaits
10) May do a smaller double #8 bucktail or just a single #8 bucktail
Honestly once I hit 1300-1500 SKUs I don't think I can handle anymore on my own or I will at least have to quit my full time job and accept this is my new career I can dream!

| Looking for some custom color Jimmy's. Really like the action of the bait, but would be interested in something different.
Anyone planning to go to any of the Esox Shows, maybe if you spot anything unusual ( Custom Jimmy) , you could purchase for me, and then we'd get settled up. As a fellow Muskie Nut, we don't have any Esox Shows around here, closest would be Columbus, so I envy all you "Hunters" planning on attending one of those shows! Thanks in advance! |

I like that top bait with the Colorado's, I make one I call Big Darla. It is a fish catcher, I caught some real dandies on it. I used a 10 inch Kalin Grub with a number 13 saltwater hook and a 5/0 374 stinger. I ad christmas tree stinsel to it, I do not sell any, only for personal use. I like the looks of yours.. Nice Job !

| New from Lee Lures Surface Baits is the long anticipated Water Chopper HD. I have worked on and off with this bait since 2005 and it is finally perfected. The hard part was keeping the same sound of the original Water Chopper, just with a bigger profile. This bait will perform at most any speed, in any chop, and will not roll! I will be making about 300 of these total this season.
I have also stepped up production of last years debut of the Tidal Wave and have added some new colors. With many of reports of 50"+ fish, I thought I would make a few more this show season.
As always I will have some new custom colored Water Choppers including White/Chart. Musky, Orange Musky, Natural Perch, Leopard Frog, and Firetiger Musky. I do not have pictures of all of these yet so you may have to wait till the show.
I will also have new custom colors of Top H20's,Fish Stick HD's, and Hot Wings Creepers.
Thanks for all of the positive feedback and sharing photos this last season.

| Muskie Metal:
Here are a couple more photos of Hog Heads. I have never seen one of your baits, however I think the idea of this ( leader type wire?) is outstanding. I tye my bucktails with the smallest wire I can get away with using #5 Clevis with double 10's 8's or whatever. From the eye of the tye to the first bead, i will leave a inch or more of wire showing. I believe this gives bigger blades more freedom to vibrate, your concept seems to me would do the same thing with more freedom of blade rotation and vibration. Personally, I like the thick wire baits as well for cooler water, Like Johnny's boo tail or Eagle tails. Everyone knows what they like, I guess.
Topwaters are the same, my pretty colors don't mean much (most of the time), they look cool. The sound and vibration is the key, I have these tuned to make a higher pitch pop. They dont work all the time nothing does, I guess thats why we have a box full of baits, but I have done well with these. The first protos of the narrow cone tail I threw 3 years ago, they worked great but I could not consider selling them. I used the allumalite to make the tails and this stuff is impossible to paint, at least for me, I tried electroplating them but that didn't work either. So I waited until I had some money saved up and spent $4500.00 on tooling to injection mold the tail. I threw them last year and had good luck, for me last year was not my best topwater year with the crazy water temps and cold fronts etc.. I get the sound by using a .115 wire, this is thicker and the rotation around this thicker wire takes more energy than a thin wire, which will change sound depending on blade. When a Muskie eats these sometimes you have to tune the wire back to the original position. This is why this bait also is a screw in tail, I could not bend wire this thick, I used this concept on another bait as well. So, I may be opening can of worms here with my opinions, but my opinion and $1.15 cents will get you a cup of coffee at kwik Trip ! I wonder what others think about vibration and sounds, would like to hear what works for other guys.

Hi James:
Yes, I have a few clips of the baits, I have one pretty nice clip of a muskie humping water behind it and eating it at the boat. Yes, on the DVD's. James , looks like you are pretty busy, that's a big number of SKU's to work with, congrats on the growth.

Location: Ft. I'll get pics up soon.... It's nothing special, just a newly designed mouse trap. So again, sorry to disappoint... |

Location: lansing, il | Stealth Tackle and Musky Guide/Educator Gregg Thomas are teaming up to bring you a new leader product unlike any other on the market. The Gregg Thomas' Hybrid Leader System, by Stealth Tackle, will be released at the 2010 Chicago Musky Show. This leader system was developed and implemented by Gregg Thomas Outdoors two yrs ago and has been attributed to the successful catch and release of 40+ fifty-inch muskies. Stealth Tackle is pleased to announce a partnership with Gregg Thomas Outdoors to make this leader system available to all anglers.
The Hybrid Leader System incorporates a 3 foot section of 80lb. fluorocarbon line tied directly to your main line with a double uni knot. The double uni knot is an extremely strong, but simple knot to tie. Instructions for tying this knot will be printed on the back of the packaging. The other end of the fluorocarbon line has a solid 4 inch wire leader accompanied by a #5 Stringease Stay Lok Snap which allows you to quickly and easily attach your lure of choice.
The Hybrid Leader System will be available thru Stealth Tackle and Gregg Thomas Outdoors at all upcoming Musky Shows and tackle retailers in early 2010. If you have any questions concerning this new product please contact Stealth Tackle or Gregg Thomas.

Location: Musky Tackle Online, MN | Gregg talked about that type of leader last year when he spoke to our Muskies, Inc. chapter. I believe he uses it for pretty much all of his casting purposes. One of the things he emphasized was how much they helped for night fishing. Because there is no kind of hardware where your leader attaches to your main line, you'll feel (and hear) when that knot hits your rod tip. No worries about damaging the guide and now you know when to go into the figure 8. For those that night fish, you know that you really have to pay attention when the bait gets close to know when to stop reeling. Not that this allows you to not pay attention, but it makes a lot of sense why that aspect of the leader will help.
I'm sure there are other reasons Gregg uses a leader like this as well. But this was the main thing I remember from his presentation.

| I don't see any swivel on the leader. When is a swivel important? I see it on other leaders including Stealth leaders.
why isn't it included here?
If this leader was developed mainly for night fishing, perhaps all one needs is a 4 inch wire leader.
Interesting.....I'm sure this is going to create a lot of discussions regarding leaders............

Location: Watertown, MN | Seen this done for years, by Herbies and his guides, they use it for watching clients line and letting them knowing when there bait is close to fig 8 and also give them a longer leader for when the fish rolls up on the line. I ended up using this application for nite fishing and it works great and no failures(if knot will not come through tip, use less wraps), they do not use a 4" metal leaders, just straight flouro or mono. ..

Location: Canada, Eh! | been using fluoro to mainline direct for a number of years while pike fishing with smaller lures..or even when fishing bass in toothy critter waters - the extra hardware of a swivel often impairs the action of baits like husky jerks. with the size/weight of muskie lures -- it's not neccessary. i s'pose i see some advantage of hearing the 'tick' of the knot come through the top guide night fishing but to me it just seems like you're adding one additional point of failure (extra knot). i'd use a swivel with any kind of inline blade bait but it's not needed for anything else. |

Swivel or no swivel, there's still going to be a knot. You wouldn't be adding an "extra" knot. Or am I missing something?
When Gregg talked about this leader at our meeting he was asked about using Cowgirls with this...and doesn't he have line twist issues without a swivel. His response was a no, and that he uses it with everything. I always make sure to use a good quality ball bearing swivel when I'm using bucktails. So I was surprised by that response. I'm not sure I understand what prevents the line twist, but I'll take his word for it.

Location: lansing, il | Everyone I know who uses a uni-knot type of leader system does not use a swivel and does not have any issues with too much line twist. This system is not for everyone, or for people who are not comfortable using the line to line system. It is designed as an option for those who like to use this type of leader, and now have one available to purchase. Gregg has used this for quite some time with great success and no failures, otherwise we would not be bringing it out. His new DVD "Timely Tactics" will feature the hows and whys of using this leader system as well as how to make them yourself. He will also go into details about it in his upcoming seminars. |

Hope you like.

Reverse Loon
Black/Holographic Glitter
Firetiger Muskie

Pink Muskie
I should have Leopard Frog Tidal Wave at the Milwaukee Show but not at Chicago. I may have a few others for Milwaukee as well. I'll see what I can get done.
