What do you guys use to measure temperature at different depths?

Ive thought of just fixing a thermometer to a marked line, droping it down and pulling it back up but it seems like this wouldnt be very acurate. Is there an electronic option out there?

Thanks

They sell a device you attach to your line. that will tell you the depth and temp at that depth.
I use it behind dipsy divers to test the accuracy and temp when walleye and steelhead fishing.
I believe I got mine at cabelas. Can't remember what its called though. really works good. Its a must have if you fish any thermocline areas.
good luck,

You can use a depthraider on a downrigger. It tells you speed and temp. It will send the signal up to a lcd screen.

Simply stated its crude but effective. Just remember to pull her quickly and get a quick read before the thermometer has a chance to react to the varried temps as you come up.

These guys absolutely screw up the explanation of what,
one can only guess, their trolling speed monitor does.

DepthTherm is the device you put on a line and lower to a given depth, then let it fill with water and acclimate to the temperature there. The temperature is very accurate, the depth is measured by the amount of water filling the device based on the pressure at the maximum depth reached, as is a bit crude.
