I got a collection of Ice jigs anyone who fishes through the ice would be really happy with. Some hunting gear, a hand held sonar for finding the depth quickly when drilling holes out there, and a new lantern. Going to be a bunch of new Ice video soon.....not a thing for Muskie fishing, probably because that's exactly what I need for muskie fishing...not a thing.

The best present was a new titanium ring from Sue and having all...every one...of my grand-kids at the house today.

Picked up this 1983 Tuffy Roustabout for a complete steal of a price earlier this week, it'll be my little puddle jumper alongside of my X-190 once I do a little work to her. Also, got a little cash to finish paying off my Thompson/Center Pro Hunter .50 cal Muzzleloader, can't wait till next fall!

I've got the best girlfriend in the whole world!! I got a waterproof hunting backpack from Cabelas that matches the camo pattern on my rain gear, a Frabill lure retriever, a really cool LED flashlight, two sets of some new fangled cats eyes with 5 LED's instead of three, the first three seasons of Musky Hunter on DVD, a really cool insulted flannel with a hood, a Musky Hunter T-Shirt, and gift cards from Bass Pro, Gander, AND Cabelas!

I haven't seen my family yet this year, so I don't know what (if any) fishing related stuff they got me, but my girlfriend sure is awesome!

I mean come on... Gander, BPS, AND Cabela's? Plus a bunch of cool muskie toys to go with it?

Then she says: "let's go fishin' baby. Let's go MUSKIE fishin'!!"

Ok... I'm broke, unemployed, and have nothing to my name but a bunch of trees up in Vilas, that aren't even paid for?

I think I died and went to heaven, man!

So I guess that lure retriever is for when you hook the branches of those trees with your back cast, huh?

Hmm, last year my wife let me go 18 days in August to hit Vermillion and then a run through northern WI. She was glad to see me when I got back. Also she let me pick up and go down here whenever I wanted, to fish for whatever I wanted, through the year, and she was glad to see me when I got back. I buy the occassional reel and rod, and my wife is glad when I sell my excess baits. I buy the occassional bait also. She understands. My wife is better looking than a lot of wives out there, and she works full time, and also works around the house. She lets me get by with some cooking, lawn mowing and dishes.

I got some new floormats for Christmas for my new used pickup. I think I would feel guilty getting much more than that.

LMAO!!

No... I think it's because we sat down one night and I showed her all my lures. She wanted to know what each one was called, and who made it and how I got it...

As luck would have it, the ones she liked weren't bucktails. or a suick or something, she went right for the HR's, Musky Snax, Wishmaster, etc.

"baby, these are cool! What are they? I want one, how much are they??"

So... The lure retriever? Yeah, not surprised!

"and you FISH WITH those?? What are you %^#*(% STUPID??"

So the good news is that she still thinks muskie fishing is cool, and she gets why I like it. The bad news is now that we watched season I of musky Hunter she's not sure she wants to go anywhere near a big scary fish with teeth, and now that she knows what all my gear cost, I "better not ever say a %^#$*(&^ WORD about her buying shoes and purses and stuff..."

Hmph. Could be worse, I guess!

It's great to be a musky dad when your kids are finally grown. My daughter and son gave me a super-creeper, a DCG and a gift card to Gander Mountain and Cabellas. The wife couldn't get to Smokies for a gift card but put a c-note in a card and said "here's the start on the new reel you wanted.

Hey there is a Santa...
